Storyboards
The story for my project has changed a bit from a girl living in the woods to a girl walking through the woods. Here are the storyboards.

Cutout Girl Artwork
Here is the artwork for the girl in my After Effects project. I did a bunch of different versions of her trying to get an innocent but haunted look, and I think this one turned out best. I'm also working on her creepy house and the trees/environment. I'll post them when they're done.

After Effects cutout project
I've been starting work on an After Effects project right now doing a scene from a made up story about a girl living in some haunted woods. The mood I'm trying for is dark and creepy, and the style that I'm planning to use is a hand-drawn, cutout style.
Here are some examples of cutout motion projects that I like (all done by Jamie Caliri):
Lemony Snicket's credit sequence (read underneath the video for the 'making of')
United Airlines Dragon Commercial
United States of Tara Opening
The last two were actually done using real cutouts with stop motion, but I'll be working digitally in After Effects (similar to the Lemony Snicket's sequence). I'll try to do another post with my initial artwork and boards for the project.
Also, here is a link to a bunch of interviews on Forget the Film, Watch the Titles. They interview some really cool people including Jamie Caliri, Danny Yount, etc.
